As successor of ‘Österreichisches Bundesinstitut für Gesundheitswesen’ (ÖBIG / Austrian National Health Institute) that had been founded in 1973, Gesundheit Österreich GmbH (GÖG / Austrian National Public Health Institute) was established on 1 August 2006 on the basis of a federal law (see Founding Law), as the national research and planning institute for health care and a competence and funding center of health promotion in Austria.
The website serves as an information platform about the work and objectives of the Competence Centre for Health Promotion in Hospitals and Health Care affiliated to the Department of Health and Society at the Gesundheit Österreich GmbH (GÖG) / Austrian National Public Health Institute.
